pleasure

what is true pleasure?

Pleasure and happiness can be measured along three dimensions. One dimension is purely physical, though experienced mentally-- that is the happiness one feels from, for example, blow jobs or drugs. The second dimension is fulfillment. A person will receive pleasure by doing things that leave a mark in history or in other people's lives, but in general by "accomplishing things." The third dimension is closely related-- helping people. People receive satisfaction from directly helping other people become happy. These last two dimensions are mainly psychosocial, but may also have religious suggestions.
